Audacious 3.9 in KDE Plasma 5 cancels qdbus command when issuing a command to shut down system

Added by Louis Cornell 13 days ago

When using KDE Plasma 5 (ver. 5.11.5) under Arch (4.14.11-1), dbus can used to shutdown or reboot the computer and neatly close all open applications. Howver, when the command:

qdbus org.kde.ksmserver /KSMServer logout 0 2 2

is run, the shutdown fails with the message "logout canceled by Audacious". Audacious did close with that command, but no other applications did. The system did shutdown correctly (no core dumps), but only after running the same command again.

Bug can be duplicated in KDE plasma by opening several application in the DE, along with Audacious 3.9, then issuing in the terminal command: qdbus org.kde.ksmserver /KSMServer logout 0 2 2

Audacious doesn't register under the org.kde.ksmserver name; that is a D-Bus message you're sending to KDE, not to Audacious. Find out what message/signal is actually being sent to Audacious, and we'll go from there.
