Files not deleted physically when using "Service, delete selected files"

Added by Rafael Linux User about 6 years ago

From some version to latest, Audacious deletion is no deleting files physically, only in the playlist.
Audacious 3.9 on OpenSUSE 42.3

Works for me, albeit with Fedora 27.

Qt build or GTK build?

What are your settings for the "Delete Files" plugin? Move to trash or delete immediately?

When you use the service on a file, do you get the confirmation dialog?

There is error handling implemented in the plugin, and you would see an error message upon failed deletion/moving to trash.

He was trying to move files to the trash on an NFS mount. GVFS said "Unable to find or create trash folder", but apparently his window manager popped up the error message behind the main Audacious window, so he didn't see it. (He's also using a GTK3 build, so that might just be GTK3 being broken.)

Basically a combination of a few different things being a tiny bit broken, but nothing that Audacious can really do anything about.

See #766.
