Description

On my distro, Audacious uses the GTK interface by default (not sure what the upstream default is). When transcribing basslines, it's often helpful to me to use graphic equalizer presets to switch back and forth.

I couldn't find such a feature, nor documentation, so I searched the web and eventually, by trial-and-error, found that from the Winamp interface, presets are easily available.

It seems strange that functionality differs by interface, so it would be great if equalizer presets were available from the GTK interface as well.

If I've missed something, e.g. "all proper Audacious users use the Winamp interface", then fair enough, but it's a shame that the default is not the most feature capable.

You did not mention your version of Audacious, but it must be ancient.
This feature is already supported since version 3.6.

Sorry, I'm using 3.6.2-2 on Ubuntu Xenial. Attached a screenshot of the GTK interface, I don't see any way to choose presets there.

Oops, you are right. It is available since 3.7.
