Organizing streams with Audacious
Added by Michael O'Donnell over 12 years ago
I am trying to convert from Rhythmbox to Audacious, using the Ubuntu 12.04 package. I have a list of 40 (and increasing) stream addresses that I select frequently. Is there a good way to manage this list with Audacious?
So far, the best tool I can find is the playlist. I have several problems with that:- The assignment of "Title," "Artist," etc. metadata appears to be automatic and whimsical, so I haven't been able to assign stable and memorable names for streams.
- I copied and edited xml entries from Rhythmbox to avoid retyping all 40 URLs. Some of the URLs require editing for Audacious (e.g., deleting a listen.pls suffix). Audacious objects to these URLs, will not start the stream, but I haven't found a way to edit them.
- It appears that a playlist will be lost if its tab is ever closed. That seems very risky.
Am I missing the right Audacious tools for this purpose?
