Ubuntu -> Audacious skips several tracks when I click on a track and popups the messagge: snd_pcm_params failed: Broken Pipe
Added by radu gt over 11 years ago
Hello,
I used to (successfully) use Audacious on my old system (AMD64 Athlon Dual Core, 8GB RAM, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Audacious and plugins installed, last version))with a Traktor Audio 2 USB sound card.
A couple of weeks ago I got a Dell XPS 13" Ultrabook with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS preinstalled. While Audacious works fine with the internal sound card, it works weirdly when I try to pass it through my Traktor Audio 2 USB sound card.
When I click on a track, it might play sometimes, but also it might scroll down quickly to another track, playing that one. Sometimes Audacious simply blocks the USB Tracktor. You can better see it in this video:

I have no idea of why this behaviour and it drives me mad :)
There is a file attached with some usb devices queries.
Anyone can help me please?
Thank you very much in advance.
Best,
radu

Ok, solved somehow.
I used a workaround: I installed Pulse Volume Management (from the Ubuntu repository) and then I was able to assign to Audacious the Traktor USB sound card. It seems that the weird behaviour of Audacious it's due to an Alsa error, which I hope someone can solve.
