Redmine Audacious - Feature #918 (New): Replace libguess with libuchardethttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9182019-11-19T01:48:14ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

Thoughts on replacing libguess with libuchardet? It's more portable and supports more languages.
Audacious - Feature #915 (Closed): configurable plugin priorityhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9152019-11-13T20:53:53ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

We should make it possible to configure plugin priority somehow.

Third party plugins (such as vgmstream) would like to prioritize themselves ahead of MPG123 for example (as vgmstream can handle game-specific custom looping and MPG123 does not).

I'm not sure what the final solution is, but we should talk about making this configurable.
Audacious - Feature #908 (New): Use QtXml instead of libxml2http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9082019-10-26T13:44:41ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

Once we drop GTK support, it would be nice to drop libxml2 dependency altogether by rewriting the code that uses it to use QtXml instead. This removes a dependency and QtXml has a nicer API.
Audacious - Feature #907 (New): QtNetwork-based HTTP clienthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9072019-10-26T13:41:52ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

It would be nice to use the HTTP client built into QtNetwork when the Qt port is enabled, instead of neon. This also removes a dependency in a way, since we depend on Qt either way :)
Audacious - Bug #558 (Rejected): skins-qt: scrolling song title causes gfx glitches (OS X)http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/5582015-07-05T19:26:26ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

Hello,

When scrolling song title is enabled, it causes other widgets on the skin to not be rendered occasionally. I can attach a video if you need.
Audacious - Bug #554 (Rejected): Crash in QCocoaMenuBar when switching UI (OS X)http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/5542015-06-19T20:49:38ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

When switching interfaces, if the new interface fails to start, Audacious crashes with a null dereference.

Presumably it should attempt to recover by switching back to the old interface. An example for reproducing this issue would be to try to switch to the new skins-qt plugin without having any skins installed.
Audacious - Bug #481 (Closed): regression: audacious does not respect filesystem localehttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/4812014-11-20T15:49:03ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

Files with non-ascii filenames are not loading for me right now on neither Mac or FreeBSD.

Locale settings are the same on both machines and are:

kaniini@Circe % locale
LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

Possible cause is f27227bf2462fb14dd4c7b577305728021e4ded8, will bisect later today.
Audacious - Feature #479 (Closed): Create high resolution about-logo.pnghttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/4792014-11-05T22:50:34ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

We now provide high-dpi images for all things other than about-logo.png. Recreating the about-logo.png as an SVG file so we can rescale it as needed would be a reasonable idea.
Audacious - Bug #464 (Closed): TupleData::copy_on_write doesn't work right with streamshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/4642014-09-19T22:25:14ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

TupleData::copy_on_write overwrites uninitialized String objects when Tuple::fetch_stream_data() is called, resulting in String::raw_unref(0x100000000000) and similar being called.

This has the unfortunate effect of crashing the player immediately when listening to streams. Making Tuple::fetch_stream_data() no-op removes the instability.
Audacious - Feature #220 (Closed): Please add A-B repeat feature to GTKUIhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/2202012-11-29T21:10:30ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

Audacious used to have this neat feature (I know, because I'm the one who implemented it) where you could set a start point and end point (in what audacious calls 'frames'), and audacious would loop between them, simply by hitting the 'A' key twice.

It appears this feature was removed in Audacious 3. Could you re-add it? It is useful for working out songs, and I considered it to be one of those things which made Audacious a more 'pro audio' oriented player.

You could probably do this by hooking or perhaps adding a filter on the pipeline to queue a seek. I am not really certain how the new effect plugins work in regard to queueing future events, though. I might mess around with it if I have time.
