Redmine Audacious - Bug #1208 (Rejected): Volume changes for PipeWire are not reflected in PulseAudio Vol...http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/12082023-04-07T21:12:29ZArtem S. Tashkinov

Steps to reproduce:

1. Change Audacious' volume - it won't be reflected in PulseAudio Volume Control
2. Switch to PulseAudio plugin - now changes in Audacious volume are reflected
Audacious - Support #1176 (Closed): Still can't play certain OGG flac streams with Audacious 4.2http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/11762022-08-02T11:30:21ZArtem S. Tashkinov

I though Audacious 4.2 has them fixed but no, I cannot play this stream:

http://joyhits.online/joyhits.flac.ogg
Audacious - Feature #1097 (New): Replace the volume button with a horizontal scalehttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10972021-05-07T22:42:47ZArtem S. Tashkinov

Regulating internal volume in Audacios is quite cumbersome: first you need to click a small volume button, then navigate a very small vertical scale.

Please replace the button with a horizontal scale always visible on the screen.

Thank you!
Audacious - Feature #1092 (New): Reread metadata on play optionhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10922021-04-28T18:28:35ZArtem S. Tashkinov

After adding files from the disk Audacious seems to never reread them even if the underlying file and its metadata have changed. That's very inconvenient.

Ways to approach this issue:

Either unconditionally reread and parse them no matter what (OS cache will help anyways)

Reread tags only if file size or file modification time has changed (this will not be reliable but will work for 99.99% of cases)

Audacious - Support #895 (Rejected): Stuttering with private network streamhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8952019-07-22T10:35:19ZArtem S. Tashkinov

I listen to an mp3 radio station (bitrate: 320 Kbps) with which

WinAMP works fine

MPV works fine

Windows Media Player works fine

However Audacious keeps stuttering every half a second or even more often which makes listening a very painful and unpleasant experience.

My settings:

Audacious:
Network buffer: 512KB (tried different values - none worked)
Audio plugin: Pulse
Buffer size: 100ms
WinAMP (running under Wine/PulseAudio):
MPEG input plugin:
Streaming data buffer: 64KB
Streaming prebuffer: ~35%
How much to prebuffer at the start of a stream: ~10%
Output: DirectSound
Buffer length: 3000ms
Prebuffer on start / seek / underrun: 500ms
Buffer-ahead on track change: 500 ms
MPV (PulseAudio output):
Cache: 1s+69KB (which translates into roughly ~1.7 seconds)
Average buffer fill: 99%

I cannot share this station URL because it's private but I can send the URL to you directly.
Audacious - Feature #879 (Rejected): Specify the toolkit Audacious was built withhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8792019-03-09T10:16:08ZArtem S. Tashkinov

Specify the toolkit Audacious was built with

Either in the title bar, e.g. Audacious Qt/GTK

or in the About Dialog along with its version.
Audacious - Bug #865 (Rejected): Unable to edit OGG/Opus files tagshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8652019-01-26T14:17:43ZArtem S. Tashkinov

Audacious is unable to edit OGG/Opus files tags.
Audacious - Feature #803 (Closed): [statusicon-qt] Please add support for mouse wheel up and down...http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8032018-06-29T16:14:22ZArtem S. Tashkinov

The Qt5 documentation says it's possible under the X11 platform. On other platforms these events will not be generated, so #ifdef's are not required.

I tried to hack a solution via

void StatusIcon::wheelEvent(QWheelEvent *event)
{
if (event->delta() >= 0)
aud_drct_pl_next ();
else
aud_drct_pl_prev ();
event->accept();
}

but it obviously won't work since StatusIcon doesn't inherit QWidget.

Probably that could be done via installEventFilter() but my C++ knowledge is nul.
Audacious - Feature #579 (Rejected): Undo/redo feature for playlists editinghttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/5792015-10-14T07:45:37ZArtem S. Tashkinov

There many scenarios when you accidentally do certain things to your playlists and you want to undo them.

Please make it possible to undo/redo all user actions, including playlist removal.

One action that is perhaps not useful/feasible for undoing is whole playlist sorting.

On application exit all editing history might be safely forgotten I guess.
Audacious - Bug #564 (Rejected): Stream pausing is brokenhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/5642015-08-06T18:16:11ZArtem S. Tashkinov

This bug is actually ages old and even XMMS had it.

So, the problem is when you hit "pause" and then hit resume, then in some cases Audacious will resume the stream or switch to the next track in a playlist.

There are two ways to deal with this issue:

1) When the user hits "Pause" Auadacity will continue reading the stream to a buffer and then play it on resume. This is actually bad for many reasons: a) the user may leave his PC for hours or even days, and Audacity will consume all the RAM and crash consequently b) the user may expect no traffic in case of "Pause" and such a behaviour is irrational and detrimental.

2) So, the best way to resume the stream will be to reset it.
Audacious - Bug #188 (Rejected): Seeking using the GUI is broken in 3.2.4http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/1882012-09-30T18:59:28ZArtem S. Tashkinov

In previous versions of Audacious you could click any part of the song progress/seek bar and Audacious would jump to this position.

In 3.2.4 it doesn't work - you have to drag a seek knot to a position you're interested in which is absolutely inconvenient.

Please, add back the removed functionality.
Audacious - Feature #20 (Rejected): Show a song being played in the status bar, and jump to its p...http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/202011-12-28T22:18:51ZArtem S. Tashkinov

Currently there's no way to jump to a song being played and that becomes a real issue when your playlist is sufficiently large/long.

As such it would be nice if Audacious showed a song being played in the status bar and if the user clicks on it, Audacious jumps to it (showing the song in the middle of the screen whenever possible).
Audacious - Feature #18 (Rejected): Rework queue manager - show it as a separate ("system") playlisthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/182011-12-28T19:48:16ZArtem S. Tashkinov

In most other audio jukbox'es queue manager is implemented as a special system playlist (e.g. called "Play Queue").

This solution has several serious advantages:

1) You can see all queued songs at a glance
2) There's no need to clutter the interface with an extra queue column in a playlist
3) You can easily wipe the queue and reorder the songs to be played

If this feature request is to be implemented then the queue column can be be safely dropped/removed altogether freeing space and making the UI less cluttered.
Audacious - Bug #12 (Rejected): Volume changes (using software volume control) are not instantaneoushttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/122011-12-20T19:18:02ZArtem S. Tashkinov

I hope this issue will be fixed some day.

I don't use any audio effects plugins (but even in this case most audio players have no problem with this functionality).
Audacious - Feature #9 (Rejected): Right click on the columns bar should show a dialog allowing t...http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/92011-12-20T19:08:52ZArtem S. Tashkinov

Currently it's implemented via a separate window, I'd suggest making it a list with checkboxes.
