Redmine Audacious - Feature #1130 (New): folders for tabs in the playlist head (an enhancement suggestion...http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/11302021-10-24T19:04:19Z--peter josv.a.i

hi,

I've been vacillating about making this suggestion, but after a test period*,
I can say, it makes sense :)

test period: I have 5 playlists (five folders) open among my tabs...
and I named these like TR 1, TR 2 .. etc.. (TR is a short for the band's name),
and I'm using a big enough monitor, but still, I'm always let down when I have to go over these tabs...
why can't they be in one "folder"?

the way I imagine it is like "grouping tabs"...
and NOT like actual folders...
cause in the end, we need to see the songs in a playlist... continuously...

so, the grouping would mean that from among max 10 playlists we could select the "active one"...
and only that would be there among the tabs...
and something would indicate that it's not a simple tab but a group of tabs

advantage?

when you're searching for music, according to your mood, the same band would fall in one "mood category", so to speak...
and skipping it as one tab could be a relief :)

searching for the right "next music", say, when you have a company over at your place,
would be breeze easy :) and you'd not get to hate your favorites because they are all over in the tabs' line :) :)

anyhow,
I'd love such a solution...
and I think it could make searching for the "next music" even easier :) :)

- - - thank you for developing audacity - - -
Audacious - Feature #847 (Rejected): mute song in playlist (as opposed to remove it)http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8472018-11-30T18:20:38Z--peter josv.a.i

hi,

I am aware, this might sound silly... but still, I think it makes sense...
it would be great to mute songs in playlists...

like 'right click' -- mute this song...
and from then on it would be skipped during playback...
and it could be greyed or something (but definitely nor red :))

why?
you are happy with your albums...
you like like all songs are there... in the right order..
and that they are from the same folder, that is, they have the same quality cause they were digitized in one batch, presumably :)

I find myself all the time wanting to delete a song from a playlist...
but I don't want to break the order :) :)
and what I'll do is skip them manually every time ...
or repeat others.. or create a temporary version of the playlist..

the reason why this could all make sense is that we do not like or dislike songs...
we like them a lot now, and like them less later ...
and this can change in any direction

listening to full albums is the old way, the passive way of the 20th century :) :)

thanks for developing Audacious

// I use 3.10, the QT version on linux mint 19
Audacious - Feature #844 (Rejected): suggestion: navigation arrows at PLAYLIST TABS at the left s...http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8442018-11-18T21:54:34Z--peter josv.a.i

I think it was Geany, the handy text editor, that spoiled me with its navigation arrows at both sides of the tabs...
in any case, I believe this is a good practice, and I miss it when using Audacious (as of 3.10. QT)

thank you for developing Audacious!
Audacious - Feature #836 (Rejected): go back to the start of current trackhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8362018-10-28T16:49:59Z--peter josv.a.i

it would be great if there was a button, "back to the beginning of the track", or/and a key combination like
ctrl+home or something, anything...

people like to get back to the beginning of tracks often...
not only when practising music-- also when someone interrupts them by a phone call or anything...
to get back to the beginning of a track is a cool feature... in my opinion

Audacious - Feature #835 (Closed): PLAYLIST tab -- right click on tab should open context menu (...http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8352018-10-21T05:42:56Z--peter josv.a.i

I think it would be good to allow users to just "right click" PLAYLIST TAB
when they want to rename it, for example...
certainly not ALL menu items of "playlist" should go here... but "rename" definitely

version: 3.10 using QT interface
// nevertheless, the version info ("File/About") should also display interface version info
Audacious - Feature #832 (Rejected): indicate if only one song is being repeated (an enhancement ...http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8322018-09-29T19:09:05Z--peter josv.a.i

I think it would be great if users could see whether only one song is being repeated or the entire playlist...

I'm sure this has been discussed billions of times,
my suggestion would be, based on experiences with other apps (I mean, I have seen this before),
that within the loop icon there could be a "1" or an "all" (or a ∞ symbol standing for "infinity" instead of "all")
*

"1" would translate to "repeat + no advance after this song"

"all" or "∞" would translate to "repeat + advance after this song"*

the icon itself seems spacious enough to accommodate an extra component :)

:::::::::::::::::::
audacious 3.10 "QT" @ linux mint 19.0, Cinnamon 3.8.9
Audacious - Bug #831 (Closed): Playlist drag-and-drop no longer working in 3.10 (Qt UI)http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8312018-09-29T18:54:39Z--peter josv.a.i

// I'm sure this has been discussed already, too, I'm just writing this because I'm testing right now audacious 3.10 for the first time

I think users (including me) would like to drag songs in the playlists,
also to occasionally add them to a new playlist, or to another playlist (as seen in Clementine)

thank you for developing audacious!!
Audacious - Feature #829 (Rejected): after add files close file window http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8292018-09-21T14:50:22Z--peter josv.a.i

when adding files to playlist, I'm always surprised that the file window won't close...
I suppose this is good for people who want to add a lot of files fast...

BUT I'm always surprised, and I usually add only one folder to playlist...
and even if I wanted to add more, I could easily click "+" again :)

since this is such a basic thing, I'm sure you already have a settled down position on this :)
that's why I suggest considering adding a feature...

perhaps in:

settings / playlist / behavior

an option like:
_
|_| close file window after "ADD" is clicked :)

thanks for developing Audacious!!
