Redmine Audacious - Bug #1209 (New): Dual play icons in default Audacious Winamp skinhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/12092023-04-11T20:35:32ZManuel Grießmayr

I've a 4K screen and the play icons looks like in attached image. The workaround is easy by simply modifying the source image.
Audacious - Feature #1013 (New): Request re Album Art using music file metataghttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10132020-08-03T22:48:59ZJim Phillips

Hi there
I am new to this forum - thanks to all involved in this great, usable music player.

I don't have any criticism of Audacious, but I have one request:

It's about the search for album art image when a music file plays.

When a track plays, and it searches for album cover artwork, it will look for the list of generic names - eg cover, front, folder etc.

I have a music collection which was mostly built using Winamp, where the album art search looks at the metatag of the music file, and if there's an image file with the same name as the 'Album' field, it will use that, and if not, it will go for the generic image names.

The main advantage of this is that music files within the same folder can have different cover images (plus it's easier to manage album art image files when they are not all called 'folder.jpg', because they have to be renamed when they themselves are in the same folder.)

How difficult would it be to put this extra facility into Audacious? Foobar2000 for Windows was one music player that allowed this to be configured.

Thanks very much for looking at this.
Audacious - Feature #1011 (New): Visible separator of folders in the playlisthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10112020-07-18T16:10:04ZDo Evo

if I drag folder labeled Tool with 5 subfolders in it,
it might be nice to have some grouping,
some indication of where in the playlist one subfolder ends and another begins.

here are examples how it looks in deadbeef or windows aimp3

When pressing ctrl+f to search for a song, reduce number of playlists to reflect the ones that contain the searched song.
Audacious - Feature #995 (New): Add star rating to songshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9952020-06-16T09:56:00Zel la

Add a field to rate songs (1-5 stars)
Audacious - Feature #987 (New): Closing of Search Library tool by same method as opening ithttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9872020-05-12T18:57:19ZDale Powell

I think the File Menu entry to open the Search Library took and pretty Ctrl+Y should both toggle the Search Tool. Currently the only open it and not close it.

Then on my system there is a minor issue that the close button is near invisible on all Plugins that open a side pane. Strangely these don't follow the same theme as the Close buttons for playlists. I missed these so long I almost posted it wasn't possible to close it without going into Settings>Plugins. See screenshot for this.
Audacious - Bug #973 (New): "snd_pcm_recover failed" alsa error and "String leaked" warningshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9732020-04-21T17:56:37ZIgor Kushnir

Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable Song Change Audacious plugin and set its Command to run at the end of the playlist to:

bash -c "sleep 0.1 && audacious -p -E '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav'"

2. Set Audio Output plugin to ALSA Output.
3. Disable all Repeat and Shuffle options in Audacious to let the configured Song Change command run.
4. Quit Audacious and run it from terminal like this:

audacious -p '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav'

5. Let Audacious play this short file repeatedly for several minutes. You may want to mute Audacious in pavucontrol.
6. If no errors appear in Audacious output after 10 minutes, try a different sleep interval. I get more than one error per minute with the interval 0.1. But I also get at least one error in less than 10 minutes with intervals 0.01, 0.05, 0.2 and 0.5.
7. Quit Audacious and examine its output. Possible result:

$ audacious -p '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav'

8. Expected result: empty output.
9. Note that the String leaked warnings don't appear every time. Perhaps once in three such tests on average.
10. In case you don't have an audio file at the specified path, I'm attaching mine to this bug report. The path to the file shouldn't matter. The bug is not limited to this particular file, but it allows to reproduce the issue with minimum effort due to its short duration.
11. I have reproduced this bug with audacious and audacious-plugins built from current git master: https://github.com/audacious-media-player/audacious/commit/ffd9ac46a43f3fb0e02d06adf382291f82037a16 ; https://github.com/audacious-media-player/audacious-plugins/commit/89b6ab575ec823b67655bea2fbd2dc7429465377 (built both in Debug and Release modes)
Audacious - Feature #955 (New): Enqueue optionhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9552020-04-08T18:06:29ZJeroen Steenhuis

It would be nice to have an option in Audacious to enqueue songs by default instead of instantly playing them.

I know about the command line option -e
Audacious - Feature #924 (New): Option to replace playlist contents by drag and drophttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9242019-11-28T13:27:36ZYves GABRIEL

Hi,
It would be nice to have the choice to drag&drop Add or Replace the content of the play list. This feature exist in VOX Mac OS, and is very fine to use in some case.
I am new on Windows, and I really enjoy Audacious. Thanks !
Audacious - Feature #918 (New): Replace libguess with libuchardethttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9182019-11-19T01:48:14ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

Thoughts on replacing libguess with libuchardet? It's more portable and supports more languages.
Audacious - Feature #908 (New): Use QtXml instead of libxml2http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9082019-10-26T13:44:41ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

Once we drop GTK support, it would be nice to drop libxml2 dependency altogether by rewriting the code that uses it to use QtXml instead. This removes a dependency and QtXml has a nicer API.
Audacious - Feature #907 (New): QtNetwork-based HTTP clienthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9072019-10-26T13:41:52ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

It would be nice to use the HTTP client built into QtNetwork when the Qt port is enabled, instead of neon. This also removes a dependency in a way, since we depend on Qt either way :)
Audacious - Bug #784 (New): Audio jumps at the start of some tracks when playing CUE+TTA fileshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/7842018-03-31T20:54:31ZNet Helin

Steps to reproduce:

1. Download and play the example file with the attached cue sheet:

https://0x0.st/sMTG.tta (rename to "Fantasia of the Shades, by the Shades, for the Shades.tta")

2. Play the 4th track (you can seek to a few seconds before the end) and play it to the end.

3. When the 5th track starts the audio jumps - a small fragment of the track is played twice.

Happens with Audacious 3.9 and libcue 2.2.0 on Manjaro Linux. Also happens with other files.
Audacious - Feature #500 (New): fullscreen album arthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/5002015-01-18T15:02:11ZAnonymous

Please add a fullscreen album art display.

Black background color and album art in the center of the screen (as big as possible).
Audacious - Bug #196 (New): Wrong channel map when doing surround playbackhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/1962012-10-12T03:10:33ZAdriano Mouraadriano.lols@gmail.com

Seems that Audacious pulseaudio output plugin has never set an appropriate channel map. This little patch will use pa_channel_map_init_auto and assume WAVEEX style channel mapping. Audacious can now properly output any 5.1 file I trow at it.

Before:

sample spec: float32le 6ch 88200Hz
channel map: front-left,front-left-of-center,front-center,front-right,front-right-of-center,rear-center
resample method: copy
module: 6
client: 20094 <Audacious>

Now:

sample spec: float32le 6ch 88200Hz
channel map: front-left,front-right,front-center,lfe,side-left,side-right
Surround 5.1
resample method: copy
module: 6
client: 20114 <Audacious>

For correct 4.0/6.1/7.1 surround mappings you will need some pulseaudio patches, but I'm still working on this. WAVEEX seems to be wrongly implemented in pulseaudio right now.
