Hi
Audacious 4.2
Setting icons theme to "uni (dark)" is incorrectly restored after quit & restart.
Note that the "settings dialog" shows to correct selected theme but mismatch with the one displayed (see picture)
Audacious - Support #1178 (New): text inside the "Song Info" window is glitching outhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/11782022-08-06T11:29:43ZAlex .

Hello,

I found some problems reading the song info (ID3-tags, metadata) of tracks with long comments.

The moves to reproduce:
1. create or download a file with a huge comment e.g. long track-list
2. open the song info and scroll down to the comment field
3. slowly scroll further down
-> the field is only shown as long as its firth line is visible and jumps straight towards the next field as soon this line disappears
4. scroll back (upwards) to the comments field, now use your windows-manager to maximize or increase the song info window
-> as bigger the window becomes as more of the comments field gets visible; still not sufficient for very long comments (some live-sets have over 120 lines)

What I also noticed:
- the comments field is the only one without a title
- clicking on the comments field makes it instantly disappear
- on the windows version, the comments field is single-lined
and further
- some ID3-field are completely missing i.g. "group", "bpm" and "keywords"
- you can't edit any song-info (feature request)

Expected behavior:
- set the comment field to the end of the ID3 section (maybe move the technical section on top or into a separate tap)
- make the comment field scroll-able (maybe a separate scroll-bar for an easy fix)
- make the comment field multi-lined (Win64)
- optimally: make the ID3/metadata editable
Audacious - Support #1175 (New): False positive error following track changehttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/11752022-07-31T19:15:48ZLouis Cornelllcornell6@austin.rr.com

Status bar error appears in the status bar for about 5 seconds following track change. Screenshot attached.
Audacious - Feature #1148 (New): Save the dimensions of the open-file dialogue windowhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/11482022-01-18T14:43:43ZJack White

When one uses the open file dialogue, or the open directory dialogue, the dialogue window reverts to a default size every time it is opened. This is frustrating if one prefers a larger window.

Please save the dimensions of these dialogue windows and use the saved dimensions the next time the window is opened.

This could also be a solution for https://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/1093
Audacious - Feature #1134 (New): Web interface remote controlhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/11342021-11-04T06:57:56ZSheng Yu

Sometimes I want to control what I am listening without waking up the computer. If there is a plugin which servers a website to local network so that I can visit it from my phone to control my music on PC.

I found this project that works for foobar2000 and deadbeef
https://github.com/hyperblast/beefweb/

Can we implement something similar or integrate audacious with beefweb project?

Thanks.
Audacious - Feature #1131 (New): Selection of songs via selection field/bar (as in Clementine)http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/11312021-10-31T12:41:05ZUlrich Viridis

Hi all,

I really love Audacious for being light weight and the vast amount of different formats it can handle.
One big feature is still missing and is the reason why I keep using Clementine most of the time.
And that feature is the selection field.

For those who know Clementine: it has a 'selection field' which looks like the address field/bar in an internet browser. When I type a text there, all music pieces with that text are visible (and will get played).
Why is this a more than nice to have feature: I tend to place a '+' in the comment field of the ID3-tag when I like a piece more than the others. This way, I can play a selection of only these songs and omitting all the others.

Have a nice day. And compliments to all the software developers of Audacious.
Audacious - Feature #1097 (New): Replace the volume button with a horizontal scalehttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10972021-05-07T22:42:47ZArtem S. Tashkinov

Regulating internal volume in Audacios is quite cumbersome: first you need to click a small volume button, then navigate a very small vertical scale.

Please replace the button with a horizontal scale always visible on the screen.

Thank you!
Audacious - Feature #1092 (New): Reread metadata on play optionhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10922021-04-28T18:28:35ZArtem S. Tashkinov

After adding files from the disk Audacious seems to never reread them even if the underlying file and its metadata have changed. That's very inconvenient.

Ways to approach this issue:

Either unconditionally reread and parse them no matter what (OS cache will help anyways)

Reread tags only if file size or file modification time has changed (this will not be reliable but will work for 99.99% of cases)

Audacious - Feature #1047 (New): Stop playing after any chosen trackhttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10472020-12-29T01:23:06ZNelson Suniaga

The "Stop after this song" feature does as it says: stop the playing on the currently played track, but more often than not, the listener wants to stop the playing some track ahead, like the last song of an album or an artist selection.

Amarok has a feature like that, displaying a little black square aside from the chosen track name. It would be nice if Audacious had an option like that.
Audacious - Feature #1013 (New): Request re Album Art using music file metataghttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10132020-08-03T22:48:59ZJim Phillips

Hi there
I am new to this forum - thanks to all involved in this great, usable music player.

I don't have any criticism of Audacious, but I have one request:

It's about the search for album art image when a music file plays.

When a track plays, and it searches for album cover artwork, it will look for the list of generic names - eg cover, front, folder etc.

I have a music collection which was mostly built using Winamp, where the album art search looks at the metatag of the music file, and if there's an image file with the same name as the 'Album' field, it will use that, and if not, it will go for the generic image names.

The main advantage of this is that music files within the same folder can have different cover images (plus it's easier to manage album art image files when they are not all called 'folder.jpg', because they have to be renamed when they themselves are in the same folder.)

How difficult would it be to put this extra facility into Audacious? Foobar2000 for Windows was one music player that allowed this to be configured.

Thanks very much for looking at this.
Audacious - Feature #1011 (New): Visible separator of folders in the playlisthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10112020-07-18T16:10:04ZDo Evo

if I drag folder labeled Tool with 5 subfolders in it,
it might be nice to have some grouping,
some indication of where in the playlist one subfolder ends and another begins.

here are examples how it looks in deadbeef or windows aimp3

It would be nice to have a plugin to stream the music directly to a chromecast for using remote speakers (instead of the crappy laptop speakers)
Audacious - Feature #908 (New): Use QtXml instead of libxml2http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9082019-10-26T13:44:41ZAriadne Conillariadne@dereferenced.org

Once we drop GTK support, it would be nice to drop libxml2 dependency altogether by rewriting the code that uses it to use QtXml instead. This removes a dependency and QtXml has a nicer API.
Audacious - Feature #870 (New): View > Show Playlist and View > Show Playback Controlshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/8702019-02-07T16:36:04ZIFo Hancroft

Add the ability to hide the playback controls (search library, open files, add files, play, pause, etc) from the View Menu, just like we can hide the Menu Bar, Status Bar, Info Bar, etc.
Also, the ability to hide the playlist part of the window, via the View Menu.
