Redmine Audacious - Feature #1216 (New): Can't sort tracks in a playlist by bitratehttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/12162023-05-29T12:52:57ZArtem S. Tashkinov

The column title is not clickable :(
Audacious - Feature #1121 (New): Allow for easy searching through music for data with diacriticshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/11212021-08-05T08:06:29ZKamil Bączkowski

I have a lot of music from all over the world, and some artist names include diacritics. Examples my include Sigur Rós, Die Ärzte or Måneskin. I would like to be able to search for those artists without having to remember how to make different diacritics on my keyboard.
For example, searching arzte should show me Die Ärtze, Ros should show Sigur Rós and Maneskin should show Måneskin.
For other projects that do that - I know that Firefox allows for strictly matching text against diacritics when searching, so this maybe could show you how they normalize the data and allow searching it like that.
Audacious - Feature #1119 (New): ADD ability to silence internet radio timeout Error dialog popup http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/11192021-07-31T18:36:18ZAllan Laalallan.laal@gmail.com

please add an option to hide these errors:

!!

normally this happens when my connection breaks for a bit and its pretty evident an error happened, since there is no music :)
Audacious - Feature #1118 (New): Clicking on the "File path" column of the playlist does not sort...http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/11182021-07-25T15:20:51ZGregor B

Bug description: I noticed that clicking the "File path" column of the playlist shuffles around playlist items, even if all paths are the same.

Initially I thought the error might be that the sort algorithm is not stable, but it turned out it actually is (since Glib 2.32). The problem is with the actual path comparison function in playlist-utils.cc:

// line 40ff
static int filename_compare_path(const char * a, const char * b)
{
[...]
// in all other cases, compare the entire paths
return str_compare_encoded(a, b);
}

There is some trickery that handles subdirectories, but in the default case (shown in this snippet), a and b are compared, which is the full file path, not just the dir name as shown in the column. To get it "working on my machine" I create a temporary string that is terminated at the end of the dirname and compare against that, which works as expected:

static int filename_compare_path(const char * a, const char * b)
{
const long maximum_pathlen = 4096;
char path_a[maximum_pathlen];
{
int length = std::min(get_basename(a) - a, maximum_pathlen - 1);
memcpy(path_a, a, length);
path_a[length] = 0;
}
char path_b[maximum_pathlen];
{
int length = std::min(get_basename(b) - b, maximum_pathlen - 1);
memcpy(path_b, b, length);
path_b[length] = 0;
}
return str_compare_encoded(path_a, path_b);
}

But this is just a quickfix without getting too deep of an understanding of the interals of Audacity, so ymmv / it may break other things I do not use.

It would be great if after selecting a few tracks in a playlist, Audacious would show the stats in the status bar, e.g.

Selected: N tracks, 12:34 duration

There's plenty of space for that.

Built-in lyrics is not standardized but there are several common tags which Audacious could read and present instead of fetching data online, e.g.

Common known tags include:

lyrics

UNSYNCEDLYRICS

The EQ window is currently a fixed size, and attempts to resize it will instead move it.
Audacious - Feature #1058 (New): Allow changing the language/locale in settingshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10582021-01-29T23:15:03ZEmblem Paradeemblemparade@gmail.com

In both 4.1 and 4.0 branches Audacious would use the locale set in the operating system. However, some of us users would like to be able to change the locale, e.g. if we are listening to music in another language and prefer a more unified experience.

Would it be possible to add this feature?
Audacious - Feature #1046 (New): Add all id3v2 frames in the settings of Playlist available columnshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/10462020-12-28T18:26:15ZNelson Suniaga

The GTK interface allows to add and remove columns from the Playlist, but those columns are just ten out of the many id3v2 frames existent. For most cases, those ten columns available are enough, but now I want to sort tracks chronologically from "Best of..." / "Greatest Hits" / "Anthology" albums by using the "Original Date" column.

In the current state, the only option is to put the "original year track" on the "Comment" frame, which is not an option cause sometimes that frame holds relevant information about the track.

A question pops up to my mind: Why just ten columns are available in the Playlist, out of all id3v2 frames?
Audacious - Feature #998 (New): aacgain in aac / r128 in opushttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9982020-06-17T00:12:59ZMauricio Salinas

Hi,

ReplayGain in .aac files tagged (using aacgain v. 1.9) seems to not being recognized.

It happens as well in files with R128_TRACK_GAIN tag (using opus-tools 0.1.10 and r128gain v1.0.1) in .opus files.

I'm not sure if these two requests should be together: sorry if they shouldn't.

Hi there -

I use audacious for rehearsing with song learning tracks where my part is in the left channel and the others are in the right. Audacious is one of the few players i've found with an easily accessible balance control to allow me to fade left or right, so i can practice with different amounts of my part in the mix.

Unfortunately this applies to the classic winamp skin only, not to the newer gtk (or now qt) interface.

I really prefer the newer interface, but i'm unable to use it for this reason. Any chance we could have an option to display a left/right balance control in the newer interface as well? Something hidden behind a button like the volume control would be perfect so it doesn't take up a lot of space, but is readily available when you need it.
Audacious - Feature #943 (New): Being able to add several folders to the library, and arrange tha...http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/9432020-03-21T01:58:46ZAsh Daveson

I love audacious, and I would love being able to import my whole library to the player.
Since it's not possible yet to add several music folders to the library, I tried to symlink every of my music folders to my ~/Music folder, but Audacious won't recognize anything.
Audacious - Bug #784 (New): Audio jumps at the start of some tracks when playing CUE+TTA fileshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/7842018-03-31T20:54:31ZNet Helin

Steps to reproduce:

1. Download and play the example file with the attached cue sheet:

https://0x0.st/sMTG.tta (rename to "Fantasia of the Shades, by the Shades, for the Shades.tta")

2. Play the 4th track (you can seek to a few seconds before the end) and play it to the end.

3. When the 5th track starts the audio jumps - a small fragment of the track is played twice.

Happens with Audacious 3.9 and libcue 2.2.0 on Manjaro Linux. Also happens with other files.
