I think instead of inode/directory this setting should be taken as the default folder manager:
Audacious: [READ ME] Moving to GitHub Discussionshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/30512023-07-07T19:37:08ZJohn Lindgrenjohn@jlindgren.net

Hey Jesus, all feed back welcome
Audacious: 60,000 file MP3 library causing Audacious to freeze.http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/30492023-04-18T06:32:07ZSupreme Lord

I have a Network shared folder with 60,000 MP3s. When I add the folder Audacious parses the entire folder, then once it is completed Audacious freezes. I think the database is overwhelmed. Is there a practical track limit for the playlist?
Audacious: Can't add mounted SMB folders to playlisthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/30472023-04-06T17:50:26ZSupreme Lord

I have a NAS with a music folder mounted via SMB on my desktop. I can browse the the folders and play the individual mp3 files in Audacious, but when I try to add the folder to the playlist I get the following error:

Error reading smb://user@ds1618.local/MUSIC:
Operation not supported

I've tried adding via the "Add Folder" and "Add URL" menu options but always the same. How can I import all the 10,000+ tracks into the playlist?
Audacious: RE: Swedish characters in Winamp bitmap fontshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/3045?r=3046#message-30462023-04-02T12:15:44ZOctane NA

Just did some tests, and I have now noticed that if you use the @-sign in a song title, it gets cropped at the right side.
Audacious: Swedish characters in Winamp bitmap fontshttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/30452023-04-01T18:41:38ZOctane NA

In Audacious' appearance settings it does say that only ASCII is supported if you use the bitmap fonts from a Winamp skin. And this is true as far as Audacious support goes.
However, in every single Winamp skin I've looked through, the font contains the Swedish characters ÅÖÄ at the bottom. It's unclear why only Swedish is supported in addition to ASCII while other larger languages go unsupported, and it's also unclear why they're in that order. However, since they are included, wouldn't it be reasonable to support these in addition to ASCII?
Audacious: Media keys for Linux but not Windows?http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/30442023-03-29T00:53:00ZDomarius Forge

My media keys for Play/Pause, Next, Prev, work in Linux but not in Windows. Just for Audacious though, my media keys work fine for all apps in both platforms (that have support for media keys).

I've even spent the last few hours trying to force support for media keys on Audacious in Windows by using AutoHotKey, but mysteriously, it won't seem to work. Audacious shortcut for Play/Pause is CTRL+, but nothing happens. It's frustrating because I can confirm this key combo can be sent - I send it to Sublime Text where that key combo also happens to select all text, and it works. I can also send individual key presses to Audacious - seems that just pressing ENTER will play the song, and I can use AutoHotKey to do this. It's just that CTRL+, which doesn't seem to work. Also the shortcuts for next and prev, ALT+UP and ALT+DOWN don't work either, it behaves as if it only got the UP/DOWN key press, moving the playlist up and down. But the shortcuts do work in Audacious if I switch to the window and manually press those keys.

Here's the AHK script for anyone who might be able to help.

Media_Play_Pause::

return

Yes, that's correct.
Audacious: RE: Ignoring/hiding unsupported files in playlisthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/3037?r=3042#message-30422023-03-22T15:16:35ZMatti Tiainen

However more generally, if my understanding is correct, when there is an extension registered by just single plugin, then is_our_file() will never get called, only read_tag() ?
In which case if the file is not actually what was expected (same extension shared by different file type), then it will always end up in playlist as "bad entry"?
Audacious: RE: Ignoring/hiding unsupported files in playlisthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/3037?r=3041#message-30412023-03-22T14:46:41ZMatti Tiainen

No, ffaudio should be fixed not to accept those files at the is_our_file() stage instead.
Audacious: Ignoring/hiding unsupported files in playlisthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/30372023-03-21T15:00:57ZMatti Tiainen

Is there a way to ignore/hide playlist entries for files that were rejected at InputPlugin::read_tag() stage?

For example, when adding some audio folder which also contains some text files, FFAudio plugin accepts the .txt files by extension, but then read_tag() will anyway fail.
The files still show up in playlist though and shows annoying "Error opening file:///foo/bar/readme.txt: The file could not be decoded. It may be invalid, corrupt, or in an unsupported format." popup when played.

Example:
INFO ../src/libaudcore/vfs.cc:105 [VFSFile]: <0x600004076e50> open (mode r) file:///Users/tundrah/modland/pub/modules/Zoundmonitor/readme.txt
INFO ../src/ffaudio/ffaudio-core.cc:276 [get_format_by_extension]: Matched format vplayer by extension.
Audacious: Edit Lyrics ... with my LyricsGenius scripthttp://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/30362023-03-20T01:33:58ZPieter Kroonbuitenwesten@gmail.com

I want to change the command on choosing Edit Lyrics ... on the Lyrics window from opening the default browser on url like https://lyrics.fandom.com/index.php?action=edit&title=Neil_Young:The_Great_Divide

lyrics.fandom.com is closed and LyricsGenius is absolutely excellent

how and where do I change that command to
$ python3 /home/kroon/lyrics.py "Neil Young" "The Great Devide" "/media/local/TUNES/Neil Young/Silver & Gold/The Great Divide.mp3"

lyrics.py writes the found lyric to a flat text.lrc file with the same file path as the mp3, so it will show in Audaciuos Lyrics window.
