Description

I have noticed that sometimes Audacious sets the wrong length in songs. I initially thought it was a problem with the mp3 files, but it happens frequently. I use Audacious in Windows and the file explorer shows the right length, as well as MPV and VLC.

I attach a recent file in which I saw this problem. The right length is 3 minutes 03 seconds, but once it is added to a playlist in Audacious it shows 5 minutes 43 seconds. I am using Audacious 3.7 alpha (the latest version I saw in the web page).

Have you already tried "Use accurate length calculation (slow)" in the MPG123 Plugin Settings? This option is necessary for some files.

Setting the above-mentioned option should solve your problem (remember to refresh the playlist after setting it). For me, the file shows 4:53 with the quick-and-dirty method but corrects to 3:03 once I select the accurate method.

I will add this to the "common issues" section of the webpage.
