Missing feature in 4.0.2

In the audacious from the softawre repository which was a 3.somthing
I could create a loop between two points on a played track and repeat them.
This was very handy for when I transcribe long teachings.

Is it possible to install such a feature in 4.0.2?

Thanks for bringing that up. The feature was just overlooked in the Qt port. It will be available in 4.0.3.

I installed 4.0.2 via compiling
how will i upgrade it?

p.s
is there a way to use the playback speed without loosing the sound quality?
