open file - drive not found - open playlist - path not found

Added by Fred M about 2 years ago

hello,

I have a playlist that leads to /Div2/mp3/ which the player does not find even though the drive is mounted and can be accessed by any file explorer.

When I open a file from that drive in Audacious the file path says /run/user/1000/doc/3adb3ff8/songname.mp3 which is no path to my drive so I dont understand how it came to be.

When I open a file or folder my drive can not be found by the player and I dont understand why. All drives but the one where my mp3's are on can be found.

ls -al /Div2/mp3/ returns:
drwxrwxrwx 1 root root 53248 Jän 31 18:54 .
drwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4096 Feb 3 14:52 ..

and

the files say -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root

So the drive is there, the folder is there, the files are there.

Why does Audacious not find any?

/Div2/mp3 is empty. Read the output of your "ls" command again.

Nope the folder is not empty, the command listed all the files and folders, I just didnt post that list because it's a unnecessary wall of text.

I just copied the first two lines.

Thats why I said "the files say -rwxrwxrwx"

The problem seems to be that this drive was auto mounted as /Div2 and Audacious does not recognize it at all.

The question is now why that is and how to get Audacious to recognize that drive?

I have full r/w access to that drive as user.

Since there is no response I'll provide more info:

When I open my playlist that leads to /Div2/mp3/ Audacious claims that this is no valid path.

I have opened the very same playlist that leads to /Div2/mp3/ with other players and they can access and play it without problems.

I have copied my mp3's to another drive that goes via /media/username/drivename/mp3/. Only then Audacious can open it.

The drive that Audacious can not access was automounted via fstab "UUID=33303DC63 /Div2 auto, nosuid,rw,nodev, nofail 0 0" and that is when the access problems with Audacious started.

The path /Div2/mp3/ has been tested and exists (and it is NOT empty).
The mountpoint Div2 has been tested and exists.
Group permissions have been set to the user, tested and proven to exist.
User permissions have been tested to exist and work.

So why can't Audacious access any data on that drive? Why can't it even see it via open file/folder?
