Equalizer fails with mono audio files
Added by Andrew Poth over 12 years ago
Audacious 2.3 in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS produces no output when playing monaural MP3 podcast files obtained from a radio station's archives. The only way to get sound out is to turn off the equalizer, but then one loses the ability to control the tone. This is unexpected behavior. I compared this behavior to Winamp 2.95 running on Microsoft Windows 98SE, and Winamp plays the same files, with the equalizer on or off. Likewise, the Totem Movie Player in Ubuntu plays the files without difficulty.
Has anyone else observed this behavior? Can anyone verify if this bug is still present in the latest code? If it's still there, it should be posted to the Bug Tracker.
I don't have the ability now to test the latest version of Audacious on my Ubuntu system. The copy I have was obtained from the Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" repository, using the built-in Ubuntu Software Center installation utility.

Audacious 2.3 ... when was that released, in the 70's? ;) You should probably try updating; I believe there are PPA's available for Ubuntu 10.04. I'm not aware of any such issues in the current version.
