Audacious tag editor [Next] function

Added by John Donovan over 10 years ago

While editing .MP3 tags, can we 'step to NEXT file' in same directory, or in that playlist?

The way I'm doing it now is [Save], [Close], MouseToNextInPlaylist, RightClick, ViewTrackDetails, Edit, etc. That's tedious.

Keystroke-only solution is fine.

P.S: Please forgive me for using the word 'function', instead of its increasingly popular mutant spawn: 'functionality'. The latter has been foisted upon us by people who never lurnt no anglish any goodly, and who want to 'have a conversation', and in it, to 'leverage' extra syllabiliousnesses.

Seems like a reasonable feature request. You might want to record it as such under Issues so it doesn't get buried in the forum.

Slightly better would be to make use of the existing shortcuts: Alt-S, Escape, down arrow, Alt-I.

As someone who has written her own tag reading function (covering MP3, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, M4a, and AAC files), it is my observation that MP3 tags are a nightmare to deal with.

And considering all the animosity this subject has caused on this message board, I would suggest that Audacious simply drop the tag editing feature, letting people use one of the any number of tag editors that are easily available. (I like EasyTag)
