Ogg Vorbis streams on Windows version

Added by Jacko Craig about 10 years ago

Hi,

Please could you tell me what needs to be done in order to play Ogg Vorbis streams from Icecast servers on the Windows version (v3.4.3). It plays .ogg files locally, but not these streams. An error message, "No decoder found", is displayed for the stream URL.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Jacko

Can you paste a link to that stream?

The above link is for pasting directly into Audacious. To open from a browser, the M3U link may be required. Here it is:

The stream link is working.

I see what happened. I'm used to entering links into a web browser without including the "http://" protocol, as the browser inserts this automatically. Audacious doesn't, which is why the link wasn't working.

With the protocol included, it works very well. Some media players leave an audible gap in the stream when the Icecast metadata changes for a new song, but Audacious doesn't seem to have this problem.

Sorry for any confusion, and thanks for your time.

Jacko
