file reading

I noticed, that audacious reads the file everytime from start when I jump to another postion.
As I usually listen to long mix tapes, I often face this issue. Especially on slow file systems or heavy IO.

I using Audacious since ~ 5 years on Gentoo linux and noticed this with every version up to current stable.

Is that behavoir "work as desiǵned" If yes, are there plans to fix it?

What format are these files?

mp3 (most vbr)

Which version did you say you are using? 3.4.2 should have fixed this.

3.4.1. There is no newer one available in the portage tree.

I wait for 3.4.2 and come back to you, as soon as it is available.
