Is there a way to make Audacious the default audio application in Windows?

Is there a way to make Audacious the default audio application in Windows, i.e. is there a way to make it so that I can open files in Audacious directly from Windows Explorer? I just need a relatively simple and non-distracting sound player to use on my audio workstation and Audacity fits the bill in every other respect.

Sure, for Windows 10 it goes something like this:
1. Right-click on some audio file.
2. Select "Open with". A window will pop up with a list of options.
3. At the bottom of the window, make sure the "Always use this app" box is checked.
3. Scroll to end of the list and click on "More apps".
4. Scroll to end of the list again and click on "Look for another app". A file browser window will pop up.
5. Browse to audacious.exe and double-click on it. Voila!

Works for me. Try reinstalling Windows, or return your PC to the store you bought it from and get a replacement.
