global hotkeys not working in Linux Mint 20?

Added by Ovi Sergiu over 3 years ago

Hi!

I use Linux Mint 20 x64 Cinammon
I installed Audacious using these commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/apps
sudo apt-get update

Then:
sudo apt-get install audacious
This way I got installed it, version 3.10.1

I use the Default (Unarchived Winamp 2.x skin)
Under Settings - Plugins - General I put a check mark on the „Global Hotkeys”.
My keyboard has a row with media buttons like (Play/Pause, Next, Back, Stop).
What should I do in order so tehse buttons will work for Audacious?
I remember trying An older version of Audacious last year and those keys worked as a charm.

Thank you!

Cinnamon has it own media key handling already, which conflicts with the Global Hotkeys plugin. Under Cinnamon, it would be better to enable the MPRIS 2 Server plugin (it's enabled by default) to allow integration with the desktop.

Thank you replying @John Lindgren !
I do not know how to disable the „MPRIS 2 Server plugin”.
Could you please guide me?
Thank you in advance.

In fact I should DISABLE the MPRIS 2 Server plugin wich I found it under Plugins page.
Everything works great!
Thank you!
