Why when no tags the playlist shows also the name of a previous folder?

Added by Jonathan Archer over 2 years ago

From all these tracks only "Inis Mona" has tags and as you can see it's displayed properly, just like I've set the custom playlist display format in the settings. But all other tracks that don't have an ID tag are displayed as "[random previous folder name] - [artist] - [title]". Is there any way to force the player NOT to display the folder name, even if the tracks have no tags?

I know I could set tags for each of them but I have more than 3160 tracks and that will take me forever to do it.

If the player version matters, it's 4.2-beta1, altough it was like that in 3.10.1 as well.

I had an issue like this issue for the longest on my playlist. It would show the folder name on every song, which drove me up the wall because all my music is in the same folder. I just got it to remove the folder name by just blanking out the Custom String field under Playlist in Settings. Now it looks like I'm getting just the filename without the extension, which is the way I want it. I name everything "ARTIST - SONG TITLE.mp3" so taking out the custom string solved that issue for me.

T'Paul: "That would be the most logical solution, Captain!"
