Audacious not working on Windows any more.

Added by Héctor Mondragón over 2 years ago

Hello everyone!!!

I'm new in this forum, congratulations to all the Audacious team, nice music player!!

I've been using this music player on a daily basis, maybe for a couple of years on Windows 10. Days ago I was switching between the QT Mode and the old/legacy one for both Winamp and previous GUI, just trying to get the best interface and functionalities for me. Suddenly Audacious crashed and I have been unable to restart it. The 4.2 beta version was working fine but I had to uninstall it. Anyway, both, the 4.1 alpha release and the 4.2 beta version are not working anymore. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both versions separately, I have restarted my laptop several times, I have restored the Windows register with several tools. Also I have scanned my laptop to find any issues that could be interfering with this software but nothing seems to help. Audacious just won't open. All other programs and Windows 10 itself in my laptop are working ok.

I hope someone here could give a hint about what may be happening.

Thank You.

Regards!

You could try (first backing up and then) deleting the %LOCALAPPDATA%/audacious folder, where playlists and settings are stored. That should be the equivalent of a "factory reset".

Hi John.

Just did that. Both alpha and beta versions are working fine now. I appreciate your help. Thanks a lot.
