Added by No Name over 12 years ago
I have
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Release: 12.04
Codename: precise
and i can't use Audacious 3.2.1 (Ubuntu package), because compiz start use 25-50% my CPU usage.
Kernel 3.2.0-24-generic x86_64
VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [GeForce 310M]
Compiz 0.9.7.8
I reinstalled audacious, but that not helps me. What to do?

File a bug with Ubuntu, to add more evidence that Unity and all the Compiz tweaks they've implemented to make Unity work are a total disaster.
Run in terminal:
ubuntu-bug compiz
Choose "Continue, I was referred here by Support" during the information collection fase.
Make a launchpad account and file the bug.
Would you happen to have a dual monitor setup?

Hello,
yes I have Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 350 @ 2.27GHz
and CPU usage by compiz always about 20-30%
when i switch off my Audacious load is down.
I can't disable compiz because I think that unity use it.

I recommend you try a lighter-weight desktop than Unity in that case. My personal favorite is XFCE.
