Unicode and JIS support?

Hello,
I've had an issue since installing Audacious that I hesitate to report as a bug, as I think it's on my end. The problem is that I was under the impression Audacious for Windows supports Unicode. I have an extensive library in Japanese, and all of these tracks are displayed as squares within the Audacious Playlist. However the title bar at the top of the window displays the song title correctly in Japanese. Many of these titles were typed by myself using Microsoft IME, so I presume they are in Unicode. If not Unicode, some JIS variant. I have also tried adding the string "JIS X 0208" to Playlist > Meta Data > Fallback Character Encoding. The problem persists.

Other than this problem I absolutely love this lightweight yet feature rich media player. Please help me so I can continue using it! Thank you!

I apologize for the double post, but I felt it may also be useful to add that my default Windows locale is Japanese, which is probably the reason it displays correctly in the title bar. I also may have been prompted to set Audacious locale the first time I installed, but I wanted to menus to be in English. I was unable to reproduce this prompt by deleting the install directory and re-extracting from the archive, so it is possible I am thinking of another program I had recently installed.

Just a guess: maybe you need to change the font used by Audacious? Under your installation folder, there is a file "etc\gtk-3.0\settings.ini", and in it there is the following line:

gtk-font-name = Arial 10

Try changing it to whatever font you are using elsewhere for Japanese characters.

I had read over that file earlier, but didn't want to mess with it in fear it would cause problems with the Roman alphabet. I tried substituting "MS Mincho" for Arial and the results are fairly satisfactory. Only remaining issue is that it now uses Full Width Roman Characters which aren't the most pleasing to the eye, and a few titles got Mojibake'd. I'd call this solved, thank you!
