Separate search tool window / Behavior of the close button
Added by Edi Müller about 12 years ago
Hi,
first I want to say that this is exactly the player I'm looking for. Everything what I need to play music, but not a bloated monster like other music player.
But I have two questions.
On the project page there is a nice screenshot where the search tool is part of the main window, but when I select the search tool I got a separate window. How can I attach the search tool to the main window?
I'm used to minimize the player by clicking on the windows close button, but when I do so the player exit. That makes me really mad :( Is there a option to change this behavior.
I'm using a self-built audacious 3.3.2 on opensuse 12.1 with Xfce desktop.
Thanks

Hi,
do a right-click on the search tool window and choose "Dock at Left".
You can do this also with other plugins.
To minimize Audacious to the tray, enable the "Status Icon" plugin (-> General) and enable its setting "Close to the system tray".

Wow, thanks for the quick response, I didn't expect that.
Yes, everything works as you described. Sometimes things so obviously that I don't see them ;-)
To my apology, I must say that the german translation of "Close to the system tray" is a little bit curious. It means "Exit to the system tray" :-)
nevertheless, thank you very much, now audacious does everything in the way I like it ...

What's your suggestion for the translation?

I would say "In die Taskleiste minimieren" which means "Minimize to the system tray".
By the way, I'd like to give something back to this project and I thought about to support the translation. I never done this before.
Is there a short description how to do that? I just found the help page of transifex itself. Are there any additional project translation guideline available?

All right, I will change this translation before the next release.
For translating Audacious you just have to register an account at https://www.transifex.com/
But the German translation is not up-to-date there because I maintain it directly over git (https://github.com/audacious-media-player).
In "reality" the translation is 100 % complete but if you have suggestions, feel free to contact me.

Ok, I will have this in mind when I use audacious and when I find something I will tell you.
