How to install/run visualization plugin?

Hello, I just downloaded the infinity visualization plugin and I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.
Seeing as I'm fairly new, I haven't really got it all down.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not being an Ubuntu user, but what exactly do you mean with "downloaded the infinity visualization plugin"? What did you download? A prebuilt package that can be installed? Or a source archive you need to compile/build yourself?
