Audible Click in Gaples MP3 Playback

Added by Scott Walls over 11 years ago

Hello!

I'm using Audacious 3.3.4 on Arch Linux.

I've got some mp3s ripped with the LAME mp3info tag. They play totally perfectly in foobar2000 on Windows and cmus in Linux, but with Audacious there is an audible click when the track changes.

I realized ReplayGain was on, which can often cause problems when tracks change, so I turned it off and the click persisted.

I didn't file this as a bug because it could be misconfiguration on my end. I'd be happy to share any configuration, hardware, or sound system (ALSA, pulseaudio, &c.) information, or even the songs in question (they are copyrighted, but this seems like fair use).

If you use Pulse Audio, have you tried running Pulse Audio daemon with "flat-volumes = no" in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf yet?

I am indeed using PulseAudio.

The flat-volumes line was commented out, and I just uncommented it and ran it with "no", but the click persists.
