Program runs in multiple instances when controlling via command line [Ubuntu 12.10]

Added by Tamius Han over 11 years ago

So, I've got a problem when Audacious will sometimes run in multiple instances.

I've set some hotkeys to control the program (pressing a key triggers a command line command), and after Audacious has been running for a while (talking about really long times — upwards of 12 hours, sometimes it's even days of constant uptime before the problem appears) pressing such a key and thus triggering the command will cause new instance of Audacious to run. Which ends in me having three or more windows up and running and my shortcuts controlling the wrong window.

Program was installed from Ubuntu repos.

Do some more trouble-shooting. When it happens, examine the running processes. Perhaps you lose dbus (D-BUS).
