Volume in Audacious

I am playing background music on audacious. At the same time I am watching youtube videos. The problem is that the volume on Audacious is the Master volume, so it is impossible to have volume down on audacious and high volume whils I am watching youtube videos.

Is there a way to have a different volume for Audacious?

Are you using ALSA? PulseAudio allows changing the volume for each application separately.

Yes. I am using alsa. I will try pulseaudio. Thank you

Another approach is to check the "Use software volume control" box in the preferences window, "Audio" page.
