Some improvements fo Audacious in Windows (it is possible?)

Added by Pascual Lucero over 10 years ago

Hello,

First at all, thanks again for this wonderful piece of Software. It is my default music player on Linux and Windows. However, I would like to ask if the following improvements are possible in the Windows version.

1) The most important one is the ability to set correctly Audacious as the default music player in Windows (7 or 8). Of course, this can be done using the Windows options, BUT if you choose Audacious as the default player, it opens A NEW INSTANCE every time you open a music file. So, the question is if we can configure Audacious in single-instance mode in Windows.

2) On the other hand, I noticed that the latest version (3.4.1), which has several improvements (the slider, for example), is not reproducing some wav audio files that previous versions were playing correctly, so I guess this could be a problem with the ffaudio plugin.

Thanks for your attention

Multiple instances under Windows are a known problem [1] and will be fixed in 3.5. I haven't seen any problems playing .wav files here. If you can provide some more details about the problem (Windows version, what you hear vs. what you expect to hear, etc.), please open a bug report and upload an example file.
